Our Boy Is Illin'

Well, we made it 7 months and 8 days, but Wilder has finally come down with a bit of a nasty bug. I believe the technical term is gastroenteritis, but the non-technical terms are much more colorful. He's puking, tossing his cookies, ralphing, barfing, or, as some of my friends like to say, Wilder is on the "vomit hell ride." It's actually not as bad as it sounds. He can be playing and smiling one minute, then, out of nowhere -- yak! -- and then right back to playing.

Wilder = Stoic little puker.

Anyway, we blame daycare. As gross as it sounds, most kids contract gastroenteritis at least twice a year from having microscopic amounts of fecal matter on their hands, which they then place in their mouths. (Ick. Ew. Gross. I know.) But kids in daycare get it more frequently. On the plus side, episodes like these help to build a strong immune system. See, silver lining (or, in this case, baby-poop brown lining!). Always there. : )

So far Jer and I have been lucky and not caught it ourselves. We're going through antiobacterial handwipes like mad. And hopefully we won't be afflicted. Because Kris & Jer = Not such stoic pukers. Kris and Jer actually equal whiny, moaning, please-God-make-it-end pukers. Now, where are those hand wipes ...

I am so proud of lil' wild man for being such a stoic puker, are you sure that he and I are not related?
